Blanco Canyon on FM Road 193
Georgia Mae Ericson, the granddaughter of original Crosby County settlers, Hank and Elizabeth Smith, returned to Texas from years spent on the East Coast in the 1970’s. She and her husband, Stanley Ericson planned to retire and build a solar energy home. Georgia Mae returned to Texas without Stanley after his untimely death, but she continued their dream to build a solar energy home in Blanco Canyon. Christened as Casa del Sol the house is now under the care of the Stanley and Georgia Mae Ericson Memorial Foundation.

The Casa which sits in the midst of Blanco Canyon is an open, airy house full of windows and light. The beauty of the canyon and the open plan of the house and pool room make the Casa the perfect place for parties, meetings, retreats and weddings. Tours of the facility and reservations for events can be scheduled through the Crosby County Pioneer Museum. A usage agreement, rental cost and service costs are also available through the museum.
The foundation is now taking reservations for events. Let us help you with your next event. Call at 806-675-2331.
The Ericson Foundation has several community events planned as fund raisers for the Casa. The funds will be used to complete the restoration and refurbishing of Casa del Sol. For more information please contact us at 806-675-2331.
